How Much Does Mobile Cat Grooming Cost in Houston?

Updated October 9, 2026 · By the Royal Pawz USA team

Mobile cat grooming with Royal Pawz USA in Houston costs $115–$185, depending on the package and your cat's coat. A Royal Feline Bath is $115 for a short coat or $135 for a long coat, a Royal Feline Groom is $140 for a short coat or $160 for a long coat, and a Royal Lion (a full lion cut) is $185. Large cats (18 lb and up) add $20. Your card is only charged after the groom is complete.

What are the mobile cat grooming prices by package?

Cats are priced by coat length, not by size: there are three packages, each with a short-coat and a long-coat price.

PackageShort coatLong coat
Royal Feline Bath (bath, blow-dry, comb-out, nails, ears, eyes and face)$115$135
Royal Feline Groom (adds de-shedding, sanitary trim, paw and belly tidy, 15 min de-matting)$140$160
Royal Lion (a full lion cut with the bath and finish)$185$185

Every package is one cat, one groomer, in our van in your driveway. A cat's first visit is planned 30 minutes longer so nobody rushes, at no extra charge.

What can add to the price?

Two things: a large cat, and extra work the groomer adds on the day when your cat needs it.

ChargePriceWhen it applies
Large cat+$20Cats 18 lb and up, set at booking from the weight you give us
Spicy-cat handling+$25Added by the groomer when a cat needs extra handling

If your cat is heavily matted, text us a photo before you book. Our team reviews it and quotes a Royal Rescue shave-down if that's what your cat needs.

If your cat gets too stressed to groom safely, the groomer stops. A stopped groom is charged at a $40 minimum to cover the groomer's time and setup.

What is included in every cat groom?

Every package starts with the same base, and the groom and lion cut build on it.

  • Degreasing Bath & Conditioner
  • Full Blow-Dry
  • Comb-Out
  • Nail Trim
  • Ear Cleaning
  • Eye & Face Wash

Never included, at any price: anal gland expression, essential oils or aromatherapy, teeth cleaning. We never sedate a cat; if yours needs sedation to be groomed, your vet is the right place.

Is mobile cat grooming worth it?

It can cost more than a basic salon bath, but your cat skips the car ride, the carrier ride across town and the barking dogs.

  • Your cat is the only animal in the van, groomed one-on-one from start to finish.
  • No time in a kennel waiting for pickup, and no strange animals nearby.
  • Every cat visit goes to a groomer experienced with cats.
  • Your card is only charged after the groom is done.

Prices at salons and vet clinics vary a lot, so when you compare, look at what is included (a full blow-dry, nails, ears, how much de-matting) rather than the headline price alone.

How can I keep the cost down?

Keep your cat on a regular schedule so mats never get a chance to form.

  • Long-haired cats usually do best every 6 weeks; short-haired cats every 10 weeks or so.
  • A few minutes of brushing at home between visits keeps de-matting time (and cost) down.
  • Choose the package your cat needs: not every cat needs a lion cut.

Frequently asked questions

When do I pay for mobile cat grooming?

Your card is only charged after the groom is complete. You add a card when you book, but nothing is charged until the appointment is finished.

Why does a cat's first visit take longer?

We plan an extra 30 minutes for a cat's first visit so the groomer can take it slowly while your cat gets used to the van. There is no charge for the extra time.

Do you charge a travel or mobile fee?

Within our standard Greater Houston service area there's no separate mobile fee. If you're just outside the main area, a small travel fee may apply and we'll confirm it before your appointment.
